DEVELOPMENT OF NANOTECHNOLOGIES IN CONSTRUCTION – A TASK WHICH IS OF GREAT IMPORTANCE FOR SCIENTISTS  AND ENGINEERS

Authors:  KARPOV Alexey Ivanovich, Ph.D. in Engineering, referent, Russian Federation

Extended Abstract:  Publications play a significant role by supporting the creation and application of nanotechnological products through information. Therefore the Russian Engineering Academy decided to establish the Internet-journal «Nanotechnologies in Construction» in 2009. According to the opinion of many specialists and experts, the concept to publish such journal proved to be very beneficial. The specialized information has strongly influenced the work of scientists in the area of construction nanotechnologies. At the authors’ and readers’ request, the editors launched a new section aimed at publishing the main results of Ph.D. and Doctorate theses, to popularize the subject of the nanoindustry in construction and to increase the consumers’ trust in the domestic goods produced by the nanoindustry. The published material is a good theoretical basis for post graduate students and persons working for a doctorate. In this issue we present the main results of the following Ph.D. theses: «Nanomodified construction composites with the use of epoxide resin» by E.G. Chebotareva and «Foam concretes of non-autoclave hardening based on nanodimensional additives» by N.N. Eliseeva.

Key words: nanotechnologies in construction, nanomaterials, nanomodified composites, epoxide resin, foam concretes of non-autoclave hardening, nanodimensional additives.
